Job description: Drop-In Center Coordinator

Reports To: Program Director

Pay: $17.00 - $25.00 per hour

Position Summary

The Drop-In Center Coordinator is responsible for the overall daily operation, organization, and coordination of The Lotus Coalition Drop-In Resource Center. The Coordinator ensures the center is fully operational, appropriately staffed, safe, organized, and prepared to serve participants each day. This position oversees daily operations, staff scheduling, facility readiness, inventory management, volunteer coordination, participant flow, and operational communication while maintaining a welcoming, trauma-informed environment.

Compensation

Position: Full-Time (40 hours per week)

Compensation:$17.00–$25.00 per hour, based on qualifications and experience.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Daily Operations

  • Oversee the day-to-day operation of the Drop-In Center.

  • Ensure the center opens and closes according to established procedures.

  • Maintain a welcoming, organized, safe, and trauma-informed environment.

  • Coordinate daily activities and participant flow.

  • Ensure participants are connected to the appropriate staff member or community resource.

Staff Scheduling

  • Prepare and maintain the weekly Drop-In staff schedule.

  • Ensure minimum staffing requirements are met each day.

  • Post the weekly schedule on the staff whiteboard by Friday for the following week.

  • Communicate schedule changes promptly to staff and supervisors.

  • Notify the Program Director of anticipated staffing shortages.

Facility & Inventory Management

  • Conduct routine inspections of the facility to ensure cleanliness, safety, and operational readiness.

  • Monitor inventory levels for hygiene items, clothing, food and beverage supplies, office supplies, cleaning supplies, and program materials.

  • Coordinate replenishment of supplies from available storage and notify the Program Director when inventory requires ordering.

  • Identify maintenance, safety, or equipment concerns and report them promptly while following through until resolved.

Participant Services

  • Welcome participants and ensure intake procedures are completed.

  • Provide information regarding available services.

  • Connect participants with the Case Manager, Recovery Coach, or other appropriate staff.

  • Assist with de-escalation while maintaining professional boundaries.

Volunteers & Documentation

  • Coordinate daily volunteer activities.

  • Maintain daily operational logs, attendance, statistics, and incident reports.

  • Participate in staff meetings and required trainings.

Leadership Expectations

  • Take ownership of the daily operational success of the Drop-In Center.

  • Exercise initiative and sound judgment in resolving routine operational issues.

  • Communicate operational concerns and recommendations to the Program Director.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred.

  • Experience working with vulnerable populations preferred.

  • Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills.

  • Ability to multitask and work independently.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and basic data entry.

  • Operational readiness of the Drop-In Center.

  • Accuracy and timeliness of staff scheduling.

  • Facility cleanliness and organization.

  • Inventory control and supply availability.

  • Timely reporting of maintenance and safety concerns.

  • Professional interactions with participants, staff, volunteers, and partners.

  • The Lotus Coalition Drop-In Resource Center serves individuals experiencing some of the most significant barriers to stability in our community. Located in a high-need area, the Center provides services to individuals and families who are often underserved and facing complex challenges.
